How much does a surf camp in Cádiz cost? Prices and what’s included
If you’ve been browsing surf camps for a while, you’ve probably wondered: “How can one cost €300 and another more than €1,000?” The explanation is fairly simple: although they share the same name, you’re often comparing completely different trips.
By Nexo Surfhouse
· El Palmar, Cádiz · 30 September 2026
The short answer: the price of a surf camp in Cádiz depends on the number of nights and the services included. At NEXO Surfhouse in El Palmar, packages for a 7-night stay start from €800 per person for All Custom, €875 for All Basic and €1,075 for All In. The difference lies in how you configure your stay and which equipment and coaching services each option includes. These are starting prices: check the final amount for your dates and room.

Lessons, equipment, accommodation and food: there’s much more behind the price than a room and a board.
Let’s start with the obvious: how many days?
This is where almost everything starts. You see one camp for €250 and another for €850, and the difference seems huge. Then you open both options and realise that one covers two nights and the other a whole week. It doesn’t automatically make one cheap and the other expensive; you’re simply not buying the same thing.
Before looking at anything else, we’d check how many nights are included, how many days of surfing you get and whether the stay is designed as a continuous experience or accommodation with the occasional lesson. That alone helps you compare prices much more fairly.
Several consecutive days give you time to repeat, make adjustments and better understand what you’re doing in the water.
What about the lessons? There’s fine print here too
“Surfing included” sounds good, but it can mean many different things. It might be one lesson during the entire trip, a daily session, a huge group or a small group where the instructor actually watches you, gives you feedback and knows what you should work on next.
If you’re just starting out, that difference matters a lot. On your first day, you’re still thinking about positioning, paddling and standing up. After several sessions, some movements start to happen without so much conscious effort. And if you already surf, you might not even need “more lessons”, but better feedback. That’s why we’d always check the number of sessions, their duration, how ability levels are organised and how many people there are per instructor.

Having someone watch how you surf and help you progress makes a difference.
Board and wetsuit included? Yes… but ask for how long
This detail seems small until a great afternoon comes along and you feel like heading back into the water. Some places only include equipment during the lesson: the session ends, you hand back the board and that’s it. Other formats let you use a board and wetsuit throughout your stay, so if the sea looks good in the afternoon, you can go back in without making another booking or paying for another rental.
At NEXO, depending on your package, you have access to equipment during your stay and can try different boards from the Test Center. If you’re coming with a real appetite for surfing, that freedom makes quite a difference to your week.
Want to see what each package includes?
This is where it’s worth taking your time to compare, rather than focusing only on the headline price.
Where do you sleep? It matters. Quite a lot.
On paper, a room is a room. Then you spend three days loading wet boards into a car, looking for parking and planning every surf around a drive. Suddenly, location matters much more than it seemed to when you booked.
NEXO is about 300 metres from El Palmar beach, so you can head out, grab your board and be there in a few minutes. It’s also worth checking which room type the advertised price covers — shared, double or a more private option — because, of course, they don’t all cost the same.

When the beach, accommodation and surfing are close together, much of the logistics disappears.
And the food? Ah… the food
There’s more to add up here than you might think. You can find accommodation that looks cheaper, then have to sort out breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. And you might enjoy doing that — El Palmar has some lovely places to eat. But after two hours in the water, coming back, taking a shower and sitting down to a meal that’s already prepared feels pretty good.
At NEXO, food is part of the experience: we work with fresh, local produce, offer vegan and vegetarian options and vary the dishes, so you don’t feel as though you’re eating the same “camp menu” all week. Then there’s the part that never appears in a price comparison: sitting down with the group, talking about the session, laughing about the day’s wipeout and lingering at the table a little longer.
That’s why, when you compare two prices, you should also add what you’ll spend eating out. Sometimes a €150 or €200 difference looks much smaller once you calculate the total.

Fresh food and plenty of variety.

Eating together becomes part of the week too.
Yoga, surfskate, video… do you need it all?
Not necessarily. If all you want is to surf, rest and do your own thing, you probably don’t need to fill every hour of the day. But if you’re coming to learn or improve, some activities make a lot of sense: surfskate lets you repeat movements on land, yoga helps you recover and move better, and video shows you things in seconds that can be very difficult to feel in the water.
In fact, video often brings that funny moment when you were convinced your stance was perfect, then you watch yourself and think: “Oh, right.” The point isn’t to collect activities for the sake of it, but to make sure what’s included has a real purpose within your week.
Let’s talk numbers: what might it cost?
Look at the options in El Palmar and you’ll find very different offers. A two- or three-night break, a four- or five-day stay and a full week of surf camp are different products, so naturally their prices differ too.
Short break
Two or three nights, accommodation and a lesson or two. The total price is lower because you’re also buying fewer days.
Several days
Four or five nights, several sessions and possibly equipment for part of your stay.
A week of surf camp
Six or seven nights and a more continuous experience for learning, practising or progressing.
A complete week
Accommodation, meals, surfing, equipment and additional activities included.
That’s why simply saying “a surf camp costs X” isn’t particularly helpful. The more useful answer is that it depends on how many days you’re going for, what the price includes and what you want to do during those days.
What’s different between NEXO’s packages?
Not everyone wants the same kind of week. Some people prefer to tailor the services to their needs, some already surf and want accommodation, meals and boards, and others want lessons and organised activities too.
All Custom · From €800 per person

Surfing, meals, people, the beach and time to enjoy yourself: the week is the sum of all these things.
How we’d do the maths
The easiest way to compare is to imagine putting exactly the same trip together separately: accommodation, surf lessons, board and wetsuit rental, meals, the activities you actually want to do, transport and any extras. Add everything up, then compare the final cost rather than just the advertised price.
Sometimes the surf camp will work out better, and other times organising it yourself will make more sense. Both options can be right. What we’d try to avoid is comparing €700 for a basic experience with €850 for another that includes food and equipment all week, because the real difference is no longer simply €150.
That’s the trick: don’t compare headline prices. Compare equivalent trips.
Can organising everything yourself be cheaper? Of course
If you know El Palmar, have your own board and wetsuit, know where to stay and simply want to surf, organising it yourself can be the best option. But if it’s your first visit, you’re travelling alone, need equipment, want lessons or simply don’t fancy spending half your week sorting out small logistical decisions, a surf camp starts to make much more sense.
And there’s something that’s hard to put a price on: the people. Sharing lessons, meals and spaces means you get to know others almost without noticing. For someone arriving alone, that can be worth more than an extra activity in the programme. If that sounds like you, you can read

surf camps for beginners in Cádiz.

In the end, you’re buying more than nights and lessons. You’re choosing how you want to spend those days.
So, how much should you pay?
There’s no magic number. If someone gives you one without asking how many days you want to stay, what your level is or what you want included, they’re probably giving you an oversimplified answer. To compare properly, keep these seven variables in mind: days + accommodation + surfing + equipment + meals + activities + location.
When you put those seven things side by side, prices stop looking so random, and it becomes much easier to decide which option makes sense for the trip you actually want.
